Responsible for maintaining and performing duties that are required to meet the needs of the Facility maintenance technicians and Environmental Services team of McFarland Clinic to ensure our building and grounds are clean and safe during and after normal Clinic hours. The facilities manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records. and supervising facilities staff in accordance with McFarland Clinic’s Core Values and Promise.
- Regularly meets with the Executive Director of Facilities to discuss any staffing concerns on special tasks or construction projects to be scheduled requiring the assistance of McFarland Clinic maintenance employees.
- Attends construction project meetings as scheduled. Reports any deficiencies within the construction documents which result in change orders affecting McFarland Clinic.
- Schedules and secures services of internal or external sources for any work that is requested or needed by clinic departments at all locations.
- Ensures safety standards are followed during all construction projects and reports any unsafe/unsanitary conditions to the Executive Director.
- Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
- Ensures all buildings and facilities are up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
- Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
- Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
- Supervises facilities staff and communicates with external contractors and vendors.
- Maintains “on-call” schedule for maintenance related issues affecting McFarland Clinic.
- Attends all required staff meetings and participates in staff training as requested.
- Enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings and education programs.
- Comprehends construction sketches, engineering drawings and assists with coordination throughout project schedules.
- Maintains records, reports, and files as required.
- Trains/orients departmental personnel.
- Administers performance evaluations.
- Assists with development and responsible for management of the annual budget and future budget and facility improvement planning.
- Prepares and implements project budgets and timeframes.
- Manages property and auto insurance contracts.
- Delegate cleaning and maintenance responsibilities to team members.
- Performs routine maintenance inspections, monitors interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation
- Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Performs related work as required.
Education
- High School diploma. Recommend trad school or college degree with previous management experience.
- Associate’s Degree in Engineering fields of study.
Certificate/License:
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and authorization to drive company vehicles by McFarland Clinic Auto Insurance carrier, if job assignment requires driving a company vehicle.
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Experience:
- Minimum of two years construction experience.
- Previous medical facilities experience preferred.
- Trade school or equivalent 5 to 8 years Facility Management or Supervisory track record experience.
- Must be highly organized and manage multiple ongoing projects.
- Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional leadership experience.
- Contract handling experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
