**Job Title: Concrete Finisher**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher with over 1 year of professional concrete experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing and be able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. This role involves working on various construction projects, ensuring high-quality concrete finishes, and collaborating with other team members to meet project deadlines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools.
+ Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints.
+ Monitor the curing of the concrete to ensure it hardens correctly, applying hardening and sealing compounds as needed.
+ Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
+ Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure proper density.
+ Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
+ Inspect finished concrete work for quality and adherence to specifications, making necessary adjustments.
+ Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1+ year of professional concrete experience
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
+ Expertise in various carpentry techniques and tools
+ Strong problem-solving and math skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Experience with hand and power tools
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to lift 50lbs
+ Ability to work in various weather conditions
+ Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
**Work Environment**
Operate in a commercial construction environment, working in teams of 3-10 people on the job site. Normal hours are 7am-4pm Monday to Friday, although this may vary throughout the season and day. The dress code is boots, jeans, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. For certain projects, travel to locations such as Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA may be required. If you live close to the Ames shop, you can ride in a company van with other team members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $25.00/hr.
