West Street Deli is looking for a someone that is interested in working with food, cooking & baking. An interest in working with food, learning and creating new items is encouraged. Since we are a small, independent restaurant we are very willing and open to trying new things and welcome creativity. As a kitchen manager some of your duties will include:
- Opening the restaurant in the morning (6 or 7 am)
- Food preperation from scratch (soup, chili, sauces, dressings, cooking meats, using a slicer, etc.)
- Baking breads and/or desserts as needed
- Cleaning up your dishes as you work and getting set up for lunch service
- Making customer orders during lunch and/or operation a Point of Sale system
- Cleaning up and organizing after lunch
- Other duties may include preparing and smoking meats, menu creation, helping teach cleaning and sanitation to other employees
We are open Monday – Saturday 11 am – 8 pm, Closed on Sundays. During the summer our hours remain the same except on Saturdays we will close at 3 pm until school starts back up in August.
