+ Position Summary
+ Under general supervision instructs land and aquatic group fitness classes. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

+ Unit Specific Position Responsibilities
+ Plans and leads group fitness classes; including land and aquatic.
+ Orient new participants to class.
+ Ensure all equipment is properly used during class, and cleaned and properly put away after class.
+ Offers input into class structure, content, and schedule.
+ Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator.
+ Communicates schedule to Group Fitness Coordinator.
+ Receives and forwards participant suggestions to Group Fitness Coordinator.
+ Stays current on fitness research and trends.
+ Maintains positive public relations with all participants.
+ Maintains safe exercise environment for participants.
+ Available to substitute for other instructors.
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
+ Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
+ Organizational Requirements:
+ Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.
+ Preferred Qualifications:
+ Fitness industry certification (A.C.E., A.C.S.M., N.S.C.A.).
+ Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
+ At least 6 months experience instructing group fitness.
+ Skill in effective oral and written communication in English.
+ Skill in communicating with the public.
+ Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently to carry out work and assigned tasks.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others.
+ Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
+ One year of experience in the field of fitness instruction
