Experience with student information and academic requirement (degree audit) systems.
Job Description:
The Department of Agronomy is seeking an Academic Advisor II to play a key role in supporting students’ academic journeys by advising current students on majors, minors, course scheduling, academic probation, and graduation requirements. This position provides guidance to assist students in making informed educational decisions, interpreting academic policies, and accessing campus resources, including counseling services, financial aid, and academic success programs.
The Academic Advisor will oversee the Agronomy New Student Learning Community, providing leadership and guidance to Peer Mentors and fostering a supportive community for new students. The role may also involve advising student organizations and collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure students’ academic and personal success. Additionally, the advisor will coordinate and teach Agron 1100 Professional Development: Orientation, present at departmental events, and contribute to student recruitment activities by participating in outreach efforts. With a commitment to student development, this position serves as a key advocate for student well-being and academic achievement within the Department of Agronomy.
