Job Description:

**Shift:** 3rd shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00pm to 3:30am (weekend coverage as needed)

**Pay Rate:** $ 30.40 to $41.80 (based on experience) + $1.00 of shift differential.

**Location: Nevada, IA.**

**$500 sign-on bonus and $500 bonus after 60 days of employment!**

**Relocation assistance available. (Must live 50+ miles from Nevada)**

The primary role of the PLC Technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency, and utilization of plant electronic and computerized control systems. This is accomplished by mechanical expertise in the precise design, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of plant systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations. Understands and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

The PLC Technician works closely with all plant personnel to support improved electronic and computerized control system reliability as well as efficient and cost-effective use of plant resources

+ **_Applies advanced electrical skills to design and specify equipment for new installations and improvement of existing machine control equipment._**

+ **_Monitor and record system performance and make adjustments to assure the safe and efficient operation of plant electronic and computerized control systems._**

+ **_Initiate and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and predictive maintenance._**

+ **_Troubleshoot equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and participate with operations, plant engineering, suppliers, and other associates to improve equipment reliability._**

+ **_Teach and lead less trained technicians and operators in the operation, proactive maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment._**

+ **_Maintains accurate records of electrical equipment such as electric schematics, sequences of operations, backup copies of PLC and PC applications, etc._**

+ **_The incumbent must have the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs including the Company’s Maintenance Management System, AutoCAD, and various building and equipment control systems._**

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

+ **_3 -5 years of experience in in machine systems repair and/or modification with industrial automation and control OR A graduate of an accredited vocational school specializing in industrial automation and control plus 1 year of experience_**

+ **_Understands and is able to perform the following: PLC programming utilizing Rockwell Software programming family; specification and installation of Allen Bradley PLC hardware including SLC, Micro Logix, Control Logix and Point I/O families of hardware._**

+ **_Technical writing and verbal communications skills and the ability to read and work from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control schematics._**

+ **_Ability to learn and effectively use various software programs including the Company’s Maintenance Management System, AutoCAD, and various building and equipment control systems._**

+ **_Must be able to perform duties and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, follow required maintenance and documentation procedures, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing._**

Preferred:

+ **_Working knowledge of distributed I/O architecture and the ability to maintain and establish DeviceNet, remote I/O, DH485, DH+, and Ethernet IP communications._**

+ **_Able to operate and maintain electrical testing, calibration, and repair equipment._**

+ **_Experience with a version of CAD and the ability to create or update drawings is preferred. Knowledge of VB.net and SQL preferred._**
