Job Description:

Summary

The College of Engineering’s Business Administrator I supports the Associate Deans with calendar management, meeting coordination, data collection and analysis, and the ABET accreditation process. The role requires utilizing judgment and problem-solving skills to triage faculty and student concerns, as well as managing documentation and workflows related to various academic and administrative processes. Other key responsibilities include managing communications, assisting with event logistics, supporting grant and award processes, and providing project assistance on various academic initiatives.

Our ideal candidate has the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities. This position also requires strong organization and accuracy, in addition to the discretion to manage sensitive and confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project management software and survey tools are essential.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Example of Duties

– Represents the department on business affairs and faculty affairs to the institution community.

– Monitors and interprets operational policies and procedures in areas such as communications and facilities.

– Assists in establishing efficient workflows involving approvals and other signatory processes.

– Prepares communication and reports for grants, awards, space, accreditation, and other projects.

– Collects academic analytics, conducts basic analysis, and prepares related presentations of data.

– Designs and distributes surveys for self-studies, data collection, and documentation.

– Assists with event planning, travel arrangements, and reimbursement processes.

– Assists with logistics, agendas, and communications for regular leadership and committee meetings.

– Manages day-to-day operational needs of a department.
