**Job Title**: Classroom Associate
**Position Overview**:
The Classroom Associatesupports teachers in creating a positive and productive learning environment for students. This role involves working closely with educators and students to ensure academic, social, and emotional development while assisting with classroom activities, instructional support, and behavior management.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Instructional Support**:
– Assist teachers in delivering instructional materials and activities.
– Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional assistance.
– Help with lesson preparation, including setting up materials and resources.
2. **Classroom Management**:
– Support teachers in maintaining a safe, respectful, and organized classroom environment.
– Monitor student behavior and implement classroom rules and procedures.
– Assist in managing transitions and supervising students during non-instructional times (e.g., lunch, recess).
3. **Student Support**:
– Provide encouragement and support to students to promote engagement and learning.
– Assist students with special needs by adapting materials and activities as directed by the teacher or specialists.
– Offer emotional and behavioral support to help students develop social and emotional skills.
4. **Administrative Assistance**:
– Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior as requested.
– Assist with grading, attendance tracking, and other classroom documentation.
– Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members as needed.
5. **Professional Development and Collaboration**:
– Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
– Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to meet student needs.
– Uphold school policies and standards in all interactions.
**Qualifications**:
– High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or higher preferred).
– Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
– Patience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
– Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
– Experience with special education or supporting students with diverse learning needs.
– Knowledge of classroom technology and software.
**Work Environment**:
This role operates within a classroom setting and may involve physical activities such as standing, walking, and assisting students with mobility or physical tasks.
