**Job Title: Construction Welder**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Construction Welder with over 2 years of professional experience to join our team. Within this role you will be welding structural steal together for construction sites as well as completing other general construction duties assigned.
**Responsibilities**
+ Weld together structural steal
+ Construct, install, and repair metal/wood framing structures and fixtures
+ Measure, cut, and shape metal, wood, plastic, and other materials
+ Finish and hang drywall
+ Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures/fixtures
+ Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
**Essential Skills**
+ 2 years of professional welding experience
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
+ Expertise in various carpentry techniques and tools
+ Strong problem-solving and math skills
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to lift 50lbs
+ Ability to work in various weather conditions
+ Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

**Wor** **k Environment**
You will operate in a commercial construction environment, working in teams of 3-10 people on the job site at a time. Normal hours are 7am-4pm Monday to Friday, though these may vary throughout the season and day. The dress code is boots, jeans, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. For certain projects, travel to locations such as Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA may be required. If you live close to the Ames shop, you can ride in a company van with other team members.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $25.00/hr.
