LOCATION:Chili NY, Columbus WI, or Story City IA

SUMMARY:This position reports to the Corporate Performance Controller with accountability to implement accounting technologies and recommend/implement accounting process improvements. This role blends traditional accounting work with project management skills to identify and implement solutions for our business. You will interact with all levels of our accounting function as well as senior leaders of the organization. As needed, this position also assists in month end closing, budgeting, and forecasting. Successful candidates possess excellent communication skills, a high level of adaptability, and an aptitude for technology solutions and process optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

+ Lead the implementation of the accounting technology roadmap. Collaborate with accounting leaders and other key stakeholders to align processes and gain adoption of new methods or technology across the accounting organization. Support company strategies to leverage advancements in technology to automate accounting or other office processes.

+ Champion process improvement recommendations and deliver reporting or other enablers to business units to improve operational efficiency. Continually evaluate manual processes to propose and implement changes to drive efficiency and minimize risk.

+ Assist in consolidating business unit actual, budget and forecast data including insightful comments to be shared with senior leaders.

+ Review and recommend improvements in budgeting and forecasting processes.

+ Actively partner with business associates to analyze and understand the financial impact of emerging product lines or other strategic initiatives.

+ Perform accounting research or provide accounting subject matter expertise as needed to support our growing business. Implement and maintain a robust system of internal controls.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting financial reporting and controls and keep apprised of new issues/products that may affect financial reporting results or processes.

+ Support the wider accounting team in various ad hoc projects or lead special projects as assigned by management.

+ Understand accounting organization and skillsets. Recommend training or other development opportunities to support continuous learning and employee engagement.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (B.A./B.S.) from four-year university, or 2-year accounting degree with 7-10 years of experience

5 years or more of accounting experience including at least 2 years of leadership or project management experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, general accounting, and internal controls.

Successful Candidates will demonstrate:

Intellectual curiosity- comfortable challenging the status quo and identifying new approaches to existing processes.

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to understand complex varied processes and facilitate discussion between leaders to align those processes.

Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.

High sense of urgency in providing strong level of service and follow-through.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to engage in all activities required in a rapidly growing environment focused on cost containment, revenue enhancement, and essential operating income performance. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
