**High School Assistant Baseball Coach**
**Position Overview:**
The Assistant Baseball Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of running the high school baseball program, including practice planning, team management, and game-day operations. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, helping to develop their baseball skills and sportsmanship while contributing to a positive, supportive team environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Assist the Head Coach in organizing and leading daily practices, drills, and team workouts focused on developing players baseball skills, fitness, and teamwork.
– Work with players to improve individual techniques, including hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running.
– Support game-day preparation, including player warm-ups, equipment checks, and other game logistics.
– Provide on-field coaching during games and practices, offering feedback and guidance to help athletes improve their performance.
– Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of student-athletes, offering encouragement and support as needed.
– Help with the development and implementation of team strategies, game plans, and tactical decisions under the guidance of the Head Coach.
– Assist with managing team logistics, such as organizing transportation, coordinating practice schedules, and overseeing uniforms and equipment.
– Collaborate with the Head Coach and other staff to maintain a positive and respectful team culture.
– Ensure compliance with school policies, athletic regulations, and safety guidelines during practices and games.
– Assist with communicating with parents, players, and school administrators as needed.
– Support the Head Coach in organizing team-building activities, fundraising events, or community outreach efforts.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
**Qualifications:**
– Knowledge of baseball fundamentals and the ability to teach these skills effectively to athletes of varying skill levels.
– Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
– Ability to provide constructive feedback and motivate student-athletes in a positive, supportive manner.
– Ability to assist with game strategy and decision-making under the direction of the Head Coach.
– Willingness to work collaboratively with other coaches, players, and parents to create a successful program.
– A passion for working with high school-aged athletes and helping them succeed both on and off the field.
– Ability to pass a background check and comply with all school safety protocols.
