**Job Title: HVAC Technician**
**Job Description**
You will work on the commercial small projects team, specializing in sheet metal and duct work installation. Your primary responsibility will be servicing all HVAC products and equipment up to approximately 50 tons, including all ancillary equipment, to ensure customer satisfaction.
**Responsibilities**
+ Service all HVAC products and equipment up to 50 tons.
+ Work under the guidance of an experienced HVAC Field Technician as needed.
+ Use a variety of hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
+ Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customers’ locations.
+ Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
+ Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
+ Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service. Perform vehicle maintenance as necessary.
+ Inspect equipment for signs of wear.
+ Represent the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
+ Provide re-training and follow-up training at customer sites.
+ Provide sales leads to Supervisor or Service Manager.
+ Determine parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
+ Document work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration. Maintain files and turn in all paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
+ Record parts, material, labor, subs, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources.
+ Keep current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
+ Read and interpret product specifications using experience with building specifications, drawings, and designs.
+ Study industry literature, manuals, and training materials to develop a better understanding of the HVAC industry.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with hood units, sheet metal, duct work, HVAC systems, HVAC electrical, HVAC installation, plumbing, duct installation, pipe fitting, sheet metal installation, and air conditioning.
+ 1+ year of HVAC construction experience (residential, industrial, or commercial).
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DMV test.

Successful candidates may enter the program in the fall of 2024, with all costs covered for the 4-year training period to become a Licensed Plumbing Technician. **Work Environment**
The work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional weekends and overtime during shutdowns of plants and projects. Monday AM safety meetings are held at the Ames office. The dress code includes jeans and a t-shirt (without holes) and steel toe boots.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $30.00
