Summary
Iowa State University’s Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is seeking to fill the position of Instructional Technologist II. As a part of the CELT Faculty Support team, this position will collaborate on testing, installing, implementing, and maintaining centrally-supported learning technologies. Detail-oriented and technology savvy, an individual in this position will:
+ Closely collaborate with ITS to install and manage vetted learning technologies for seamless integration with the Canvas learning management system.
+ Monitor Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) specifications and changes impacting the performance of centrally supported learning technologies.
+ Manage the technical specifications of a student course satisfaction survey platform.
+ Test and monitor the deployment of new technical features in Canvas and other centrally supported technologies.
+ Provide ticket and phone support in response to instructor inquiries.
+ Solve tickets escalated from Tier 1 (Helpdesk).
+ Serve as a liaison between ITS and vendors to successfully troubleshoot complex technical issues
+ Communicate necessary fixes, updates, features, and services to the CELT leadership.
+ Document internal processes, policies, and procedures.
+ Create custom documentation for internal audiences (sub-account administrators, etc.).
+ Facilitate communication with vendors of instructional technologies.
+ Create internal and external knowledge databases for supported technologies.
+ Analyze and interpret data to improve the use and management of centrally-supported technologies.
+ Participate in CELT internal and external committees
A successful candidate will possess: great a ttention to detail: excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft and/or Apple OS and applications, Canvas Learning Management System, and learning technologies management; excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and time management skills; an ability to provide meaningful insights and assist in making complex decisions; strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving skills; a positive attitude and strong customer service skills; an ability to work under deadlines and move projects forward.
