Job Description:

**Job Title: Material Handler**

**Responsibilities**

+ Load and unload trucks, railcars, and totes/containers in accordance with company standards.

+ Climb and work at elevation on semi-tractor trailers and railcars in various weather conditions.

+ Properly document shipping and receiving logs, files, and records for every shipment.

+ Conduct initial lab analysis on inbound products to ensure they meet quality standards.

+ Verify freight bills and prepare/review packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.

+ Maintain the cleanliness of the tank farm and trucking bay.

+ Receive parts and supplies for the plant/office and file inventory records properly.

+ Enter customer data into the data management system as required.

+ Facilitate customer sample requests and operate material handling equipment safely.

+ Operate company vehicles safely, including box trucks.

+ Wear proper PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.

+ Utilize safety harness/fall arrest system when required by company policy.

+ Cross-train with production and assist with plant operations and maintenance when required.

+ Properly package products for shipping in accordance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

+ Answer the phone professionally and communicate with customers/shipping company representatives by email.

+ Provide documentation to customers as needed and receive after-hours calls to facilitate operations.

+ Comply with all company food safety and occupational safety requirements.

+ Maintain a clean, food-safe, and occupationally safe truck bay.

+ Participate in company training sessions.

+ Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience in logistics, inventory management, material handling, and shipping/receiving.

+ Ability to load and unload trucks and operate forklifts.

+ Proficiency in document management and inspection processes.

+ Strong customer service and data entry skills.

+ Valid driver’s license.

+ Comfortable with heights and ability to routinely lift 75 lbs.

**Work Environment**

The work environment is climate-controlled and requires working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. You will be exposed to dust, heat, noise, and fumes. The dress code is casual, and steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and additional PPE are required. Standard working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $25.00/hr.
