**Job Title: Converting Operator**

**Job Description**

As a Converting Operator, you will be responsible for operating a machine used for flexible packaging, such as labels and print on boxes. Your duties will also include utilizing and maintaining mounting equipment and ensuring its cleanliness throughout the shift. Additionally, you will handle plates used as molds, which will often need to be cleaned before being stored. Each plate will require inspection before use for a print run.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate machinery used for flexible packaging, such as labels and print on boxes.

+ Utilize and maintain mounting equipment, ensuring its cleanliness throughout the shift.

+ Handle and clean plates used as molds before storing them.

+ Inspect plates before use for each print run.

**Essential Skills**

+ 6+ months of machine operation experience.

+ 1+ year of experience within a manufacturing setting or production line.

+ Mechanically inclined.

+ Assembly skills.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Press Operator experience is a plus.

**Work Environment**

This is a smaller family-owned and operated company with very low turnover. The majority of the staff has been with the company for over 5 years. The company is accommodating to personal family matters but expects the team to work hard while at work. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans or work pants with no holes, and a t-shirt. Our Client provides PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. The 1st shift schedule is from 5 AM to 1 PM, and the 2nd shift is from 1 PM to 9 PM.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $22.00/hr.
