Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs analytical procedures designed to aid physicians in diagnosing disease and monitoring current patient status. Provides generalized and specialized professional laboratory skills in caring for neonatal through geriatric patients in the Laboratory and Blood Bank. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.
Required Qualifications
+ Graduation from a program with an Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Program (Medical Lab Tech).
+ Working knowledge of the following areas: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, immunohematology and transfusion therapy, immunology, phlebotomy, and blood gas analysis.
+ Registration or registry eligible as a Medical Laboratory Technician with an approved national certification agency. If not already registered with an approved national certification agency, must pass Board of Registry examination within one year of employment.
