**Job Title**: Middle School Head Girls Wrestling Coach
**Reports To**: Athletic Director
**Position Summary**
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Girls Wrestling Coach for our middle school program. The successful candidate will lead and develop student-athletes by teaching fundamental wrestling techniques, promoting teamwork, and fostering personal growth. This role is essential to the continued development and success of the schools wrestling program.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
– Plan, organize, and implement practice sessions that teach fundamental wrestling techniques and strategies tailored to middle school athletes.
– Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal accountability.
– Collaborate with other wrestling coaches at all levels to ensure consistency in coaching philosophy, skill progression, and program goals.
– Identify and develop individual and team potential while promoting a lifelong appreciation for the sport of wrestling.
– Actively participate in program development, including recruitment, retention, and progression of athletes from middle school to high school programs.
– Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administrators regarding schedules, expectations, and program objectives.
– Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations, including academic eligibility and safety protocols.
– Oversee the care and maintenance of equipment and facilities used by the wrestling program.
– Serve as a role model for student-athletes by demonstrating integrity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
**Qualifications**
– Previous coaching experience, preferably in wrestling, at the middle or high school level.
– Strong understanding of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
– Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and athletic staff to achieve program goals.
– Excellent communication and organizational skills.
– Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
– CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
– Must meet all district and state requirements for coaching certification.
**Preferred Qualifications**
– Experience coaching girls sports or wrestling specifically.
– Demonstrated success in developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
**Working Conditions**
– Practices and competitions will primarily take place after school hours and may include evenings or weekends.
