**Job Title: Mill Operator**

**Job Description**

As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of mill equipment. Your primary duties include cleaning and removing products from floors, transferring products into bins, and ensuring proper equipment set-up and operation. You will also be required to monitor and adjust mill flow, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production parameters to optimize efficiency.

**Responsibilities**

+ Clean and remove products from floors and place them into bins.

+ Transfer products to the 7th floor and dump them into the silo.

+ Perform mill rounds to set up and arrange equipment for proper operation.

+ Read, assess, troubleshoot, and adjust mill flow.

+ Understand and manage all mill flows and flow sheets.

+ Monitor and regulate production parameters to maintain peak efficiency.

**Essential Skills**

+ 1+ years of previous work experience in production or food manufacturing.

+ General working knowledge of computers.

+ Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

+ Comfortable standing for the entire shift.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Previous experience in a mill is preferred.

+ General labor skills.

**Work Environment**

This is a warm environment, with temperatures averaging around 80 degrees and occasionally reaching up to 100 degrees. The role requires comfort with heat, though there is an air-conditioned control room where employees spend 30-40% of their time. The dress code includes jeans or work pants, boots, and no jewelry. We provide hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), hard hats, and lab coats. The shift schedule is 7pm – 7am, following a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off pattern.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $16.00 – $19.00/hr.
