If so, Parent and Family Programs and Off-Campus Student Support Program within the Dean of Students Office at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Parent and Family Programs and Off-Campus Student Support Program Coordinator! This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist I.

The mission of Parent & Family Programs at Iowa State University is to offer programming and services that facilitate the successful transition, engagement, and support of families of college students. Our office is dedicated to providing information, resources, and opportunities that empower families to be active partners in their student’s education and overall well-being. Through our initiatives, we aim to enhance the support network for students, strengthen family connections, and contribute to the academic success and personal growth of all students.

The mission of the Off-Campus Student Support Program at Iowa State University is to offer comprehensive programming and services designed to empower and support off-campus and commuter students, as well as those considering or transitioning to off-campus living. Through resources, events, and advocacy efforts, we aim to enhance the experience of all students navigating off-campus life, promote their engagement with the university, and facilitate their access to essential support services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

+ Assist with the planning and implementation of programming and events for students living off campus.

+ Serve as a resource for off-campus students seeking services. Refer students to on-campus and community resources as necessary.

+ Plan and execute events intended to engage parents, families, and supporters of students, including Cyclone Family Weekend.

+ Promote services, resources, and programs to parents, families, and supporters of students.

+ Craft communication to parents, families, and supporters of students through the portal, social media, and email formats.

+ Craft communication to off-campus students through social media and email formats.

+ Organize and implement outreach activities, including tabling events and interactive social media campaigns to engage off-campus students.

+ Organize and implement outreach activities to educate families, parents, and supporters of students about Parent and Family Programs resources.

+ Collaborate with departments in the Dean of Students Office portfolio.

+ Collaborate with campus and community partners to support Cyclone Family Weekend and off-campus student life.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Level Guidelines- Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision- Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode- Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained- Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate- May lead projects of limited scope and complexity- May provide guidance to students
