Description
McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Phlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsibilities include: collecting and receiving specimens to be tested. Prepares and dispatches specimens for testing. Performs receptionist duties, c ollects blood samples by venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick, obtains urine and other specimens from patients, performs receptionist and other clerical duties as needed, stocks and maintains supplies in work areas, helps to keep work area clean, attends required meetings and participates on committee as requested, performs related work as required. Education
+ High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.
+ Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required
Certification/License
+ Prefer Certification in Phlebotomy.
+ Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
+ Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse
Days: Monday – Friday. Saturday rotation
Hours: M-F 8:30 – 5:30 PM. Saturday rotation 8:00 AM – Noon
Experience
+ Computer skills.
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Phlebotomy experience in fast paced clinical laboratory environment.
+ Medical terminology
