**Job Description**
This position is for a Product Engineering Intern in the Valve and Pump Solutions business unit of Danfoss Power Solutions, focused on open circuit pumps. The position will be at the Ames, Iowa location, and will report to the North American engineering manager. It entails working with product engineers and others in the organization to improve product designs, create and document test requirements, and analyze and resolve product issues due to customer, supplier, or operations related causes. It is initially a full-time (40 hours/week) position during the summer months, with the possibility of extending it into the fall semester at significantly reduced work hours. This extension depends on business circumstances and the candidate’s performance.
**Job Responsibilities**
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
· Component/system design and analysis
· Testing and validation in a lab setting
· Writing coherent and comprehensive test reports
· Resolution of product design and manufacturing issues
· Implementation of design and process changes and improvements
· Documentation of design and test requirements
**Background & Skills**
**The basic requirements for the position include:**
· Major field of study: Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering (Power and Machinery), Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electro-mechanics
· Level of education: Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree
**Preferred qualifications**
· Internship or co-op experience in an engineering or manufacturing field
· Strong communication skills in English
· CAD skills
· Hands-on mechanical skills
