Summary
The Treasurer’s Office at Iowa State University (ISU) is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Program Assistant III position. This position assists the Office in maintaining accurate records of payments by consulting with the University’s Receivables Office, Office of Student Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, and other various University departments to properly manage and apply payments. This role also researches questions to provide information and advice to students, parents, and authorized third parties regarding payment of the University bill and works with financial institutions to research and resolve returned or incorrectly applied student, parent, faculty, and/ or staff payments.Responsibilities for this position include:
+ Drafting letters to financial institutions for validation of authorized account signatories
+ Assisting with daily banking processes and settlements
+ Maintaining databases for on-campus merchant credit card program, monthly fee reconciliation, and outgoing wires
+ Monitoring the Treasurer’s Office general email to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests
+ Assisting in maintaining the Treasurer’s Office website to ensure information is current
+ Researching and providing necessary documentation to claim University’s unclaimed property held by various States
+ Supporting internal and external senior level personnel as well as ensuring diplomatic proceedings with complex financials impacting the University
The successful candidate must be analytical, innovative, professional, organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and work well alone and as a member of a team. Knowledge of fund accounting, NACHA rules and other banking processes, and the ability to communicate, advise, and negotiate with a diverse group of staff, students, and the general public regarding procedures, rules, and regulations are also required to be successful in this position. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook, able to diffuse a volatile individual and/or situation, and effectively problem solve.
