Job Title: QA/QC Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QA/OC Lab Technician to join our quality assurance team. This role involves reviewing finished products for quality defects, conducting various tests, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. You will be working both in the lab and on the production floor, collaborating with operators and production members to address quality issues. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position with opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

+ Review finished products for quality defects.

+ Perform all DON testing (mycotoxin testing).

+ Conduct appearance checks on products.

+ Prepare samples for additional testing such as ash, protein, and moisture.

+ Calibrate scales weekly.

+ Conduct environmental monitoring swabbing (EMP).

+ Run ELISA testing methodology.

+ Document results and lab notes in Excel.

+ Work on additional small projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in quality assurance and quality control.

+ Knowledge of food science, food manufacturing, and microbiology.

+ Proficiency in laboratory techniques and food chemistry.

+ Skills in pipetting, aseptic technique, and inspection.

+ Understanding of food safety and lab documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Degree in Food Science, Culinary Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.

+ Previous industry experience in a quality or food science-related position is preferred.
