Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in the information technology industry, located in Ames, Iowa. The role is for a Senior Desktop Engineer who will be a vital member of our team, supporting the deployment and administration of Windows OS, application packages, and Apple iOS in a Windows environment.
Responsibilities:
– Administer and deploy Windows Operating System and application packages, ensuring optimal performance and user accessibility.
– Implement and manage Apple iOS within a Windows environment, addressing any compatibility issues that arise.
– Utilize Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools to maintain and monitor mobile devices within the organization.
– Employ PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks and increase efficiency.
– Manage Active Directory and Group Policy Objects to ensure secure access to resources and enforce business rules.
– Leverage ITIL processes to align IT services with the needs of the organization.
– Utilize VMware and Thin Client technologies to provide virtualized desktops and applications to end-users.
– Oversee the deployment and management of printers within the organization.
– Maintain current knowledge of hospital information systems and apply this knowledge in daily tasks.
– Stay updated with the latest Microsoft technologies and apply relevant certifications to improve system administration. Requirements – Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Desktop Engineer or a similar role
– Proficiency in Microsoft applications and operating systems
– Expertise in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
– Solid understanding of computer hardware and configuration management
– Experience with deployments and the use of ITIL – IT Infrastructure Library and ITIL Processes
– Familiarity with VMware, VMware Infrastructure, and VMware Technologies
– Knowledge of Thin Client and MDM Technologies
– Proficiency in PowerShell, PowerShell Scripting, and Windows PowerShell
– Experience working with Windows Environment, Windows Deployment, Windows Desktop, and Windows Desktop Operating System
– Familiarity with Apple iOS systems
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
– Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Relevant certification or degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred. Technology Doesn’t Change the World, People Do.®
