Experience in food service management including food production, sanitation, service, scheduling, and personnel management.
Experience in a high-volume collegiate residential and/or restaurant environment.
Experience with food service software systems.
Food service training experience.

Reporting through the Division of Student Affairs, ISU Dining operates 4 residential dining facilities, 18 retail venues, campus-wide vending, 2 food trucks, catering services, a culinary support center, a bakery, and a food stores warehouse and distribution center. In addition, to support these operations we maintain several administrative units including support services, engagement, business services and financial operations, dining information systems, and a culinary team.
ISU Dining is committed to training our staff and executing objectives focused on customer service, food production, and sustainability.

+ Supervises, directs, and trains on food preparation and production support activities for multiple workstations.
+ Develops and implements relevant training to increase knowledge and ability of staff.
+ Assists in coordinating the food, materials, and equipment for daily use, including but not limited to: ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, producing, serving, and transporting all daily food items.
+ Helps determine appropriate levels of stock, oversees inventory counts, and tracks shrinkage.
+ Oversees distribution of recipes, serving line worksheets, production schedules, and all necessary documentation to maintain high levels of service in conjunction with production cost goals.
+ Evaluates product and service offerings; and recommends, revises, and implements changes.
+ Tests and evaluates equipment, products, and menus; develops and tests recipes, as requested; and makes recommendations.
+ Controls income and expenses and recommends, revises, and implements changes as necessary using resources efficiently and effectively while maximizing sales.
+ Participates in coordination and supervision of daily operations.
+ Maintains safety and sanitation standards according to the Iowa Health Code.
